I bought the filter and cap combo, *hoping* that my research had paid off, and that this filter would fit my vaccuum/blower — and it did!Not only that, but the filter/filter plate combo *did* come with a wing-nut, as you can see when I opened the box.The filter has a circular ‘ridge’ on both ends — seems like it doesn’t matter which end goes on — and the cap will fit either end. The provided wing-nut fit the threads exactly. Back in business!Will revisit this review when we see how the filter performs.

This filter has the same exact dimensions and configuration as the original Craftsman # 9-17816 filter that’s no longer available. It’s the perfect replacement for my old Craftsman 8 gal vacuum model # 113.177805, which was designed to use the filter that’s open on both ends and uses the plastic end cap and retainer nut. I will definitely be purchasing more of these.

Good fit, works like the original and includes the often lost nylon retaining nut.Why sears would discontinue this and the matching filter cartridge is beyond me, my God, they made a gazillion if the 4,6,&8 gallon Shopvacs that use this part. Well, now thanks to Amazon you have a replacement choice, buy this with confidence. It works fine

I have an older Rigid wet dry vac and the filters are very hard to find. I found this filter online for a very reasonable price so I purchased one filter.The filter is good quality and is almost the right size for the vacuum. The filter is about 1/2 in shorter in height than the original filter so it installed too loose on the filter holder . I solved problem by removing the rubber gasket from the old filter and sliding it on to the filter holder to take up the slack. Works well and is tight with not air leaks. I am satisfied.Now to be honest, the company offers a plate for the filter that is a one time purchase. Maybe this plate takes up the 1/2 inch height problem.

This filter was a perfect, OEM-style fit for my early 1990s-vintage 5.25HP, 16 gallon Craftsman wet/dry vac, model # 113.177890 . The factory end/cap/nylon retaining nut worked just fine with this new filter. It’s nice to see companies like Kopach producing consumables for older, yet perfectly servicable, equipment like this old shop vac. And according to the label included with the filter, it’s manufactured in Michigan.

My original Sears vac filters are a little softer and slouch a little which leaves a small space at the top that lets debris in and shoots out the outlet. These filters are about 3/8″ taller than the Sears on and fit perfectly.

IT IS A LITTLE SHORT, ABOUT 1/4-1/2″ LESS THE ORIGINAL RIDGID FILTER WICH IS A GAP TO COMPLETE SEAL THE ENGINE. ONCE FIX IT WITH A SPACER THE SUCTION LOOKS GOOD. THE RUBBER SEALS ON BOTH SIDES SEEMS A LITTLE FRAGILE ALSO.

This appears to be a good replacement for the original style filter for many larger Sears shop vacs. I never liked the original filters because they were very flexible and that made tapping them to remove caked on dust a little harder (you cant hit them hard or they will distort). I prefer the metal topped filter that is held on by friction rather than the cap and special nut originally used on these vacuums. Those are hard to find now so stock up if you can and buy these for OEM equivalence.

The “does it fit” link does not work for this model number, but it does fit. My owners manual says it takes a Red Stripe filter. IT DOES NOT. It takes this one. The vacuum is at least 25 years old, maybe 30. Should be good for another 25 years now.

This is a perfect, well-made filter for older Ridgid vacuums. If you buy a Ridgid filter at a store and it’s too long, this filter is likely the size you need. I’m pleased to have a filter that, once again, fits my vacuum.
